Explore the power of standardized RDLs

PCA provides standardized reference data libraries (RDLs) to support the oil and gas industry and other heavy asset sectors. These libraries offer standardized technical terms, structured information models, and ontologies to improve data exchange and asset management.

Shaping the Future of Reference Data Libraries

PCA’s reference data libraries (RDLs) with Reference Terms and IMF Types are the foundation of to the energy and other heavy asset industries. In 2024, we are introducing a new RDL with new tools and ways of working that allow members to actively shape the future of these resources.

Your voice, your impact

With our new tools and ways of working, every member has the opportunity to directly influence the content development of our libraries. Here’s how you can make your mark!

1

Propose new reference terms

Identify gaps in the PCA RDL and submit change proposals to expand the library’s terminology to better serve our community’s needs.

2

Suggest IMF Types

Dive into the innovative world of IMF Types (structured information models) by proposing new concepts that can redefine our industry standards.

You can read more about IMF Types on this page.

3

Collaborative approval

Authorized persons from member organizations can engage in a collaborative process to review, approve, and publish new submitted proposals, ensuring that every addition meets our high standards of quality and relevance.

Introducing symbols to library

We’re excited to introduce symbol to the library. The symbols designed to enhance the visualization of structured data models using machine-readable engineering symbols. This collection empowers users with a clearer understanding of complex data.

Alongside adding symbols to the library, we’re launching a new tool that will enable users to edit, create, and submit symbol revisions. Like the RDL and IMF Types, this tool supports a collaborative approval and publishing process, ensuring that the symbols you depend on remain accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to all.

Join us in shaping the future

Whether you're suggesting new terms, types, symbols, or contributing in the approval process, your contributions are essential to the evolution of our libraries. Curious about how you can get involved? Reach out to us for more details.

Together, we’ll build a dynamic, future-ready library that not only addresses today’s needs but anticipates tomorrow’s challenges. Join us at the cutting edge of industry innovation – driven by your expertise.
